Announcing Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner05/08/2017Spencer Madsen We’re moving through springtime here in Boise, but don’t think we forgot about our regularly scheduled Share Your Shutters contest. Spring’s contest winner is Tonya S., who shared a few photos of her new shutters that feature a lot of great design choices. Tonya’s space features some stunning new Polywood® plantation shutters in the dining room. Because her shutters are closed, you can really get a glimpse of how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Imagine that dining room with a slightly softer light; it would be the perfect setting for a romantic candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your dining room like Tonya has, you can express the mood you want at any time of day. Take a look at how the white shutters complement the white trim near the floors as well as the white ceiling. Those matching neutrals let the black table and the hardwood floor’s texture ”pop” even more. But that wasn’t her only photo submission. She also sent in a photo of her brand-new sliding barn door shutter! There’s a few reasons we love this barn door shutter. First off, it looks fantastic. The homegrown aesthetic of the wood panel with that sleek black hardware above give a timeless yet cozy look. What we love even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. The barn door shutter sits off the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still letting the window operate. Since her shutter sits on the frame, Tonya can still use her window sill. For example, if she wanted to set a plant on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter to let it catch some rays while keeping her home as dim or bright as she wants. Tonya tells us that this is the third time they’ve chosen window treatments from Sunburst Shutters, and we want to thank her for her continued support in choosing us for all her shutter needs. For winning our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest, Tonya will get a $100 gift card to a restaurant in her area. If you want to get your shutters featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or upload a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a changeme next go around!
